were two Parts of the revision in fares, part one was in May will see a maximum increase in fares by Rs 10. Central government was set a committee as fourth Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) and the Delhi Metro Revised Cost was recommended this committee. Till now, those passengers travelling between 2 to 5 kilometres, would pay Rs 15, for a distance of over 32 kilometres cost Rs 50. But from now onwards, prices will increase to Rs 20 and Rs 60, respectively. As per the notification, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will continue its decision that is 10 % discount for passengers with a smart card. As per officials 70 % of metro passengers use smart cards to save the time. The revised fares will be applicable on 05 lines of routes such as Blue, Yellow, Red, Green and Violet of the Delhi Metro but Fares will remain the same for The Airport Express Line (Orange).

Ticket Options: There are three options of ticket that are as follows:
Travel Card
Tourist Card
Token


Travel Card: This is the most suitable option to pay the fare for common passengers. The minimum amount payable at the time of purchase of a new card would be Rs 150/- including refundable security of Rs. 50/-. At Customer Care Centers of any station, the consequent recharge of the card can be done with a minimum value of Rs. 200/- and up to Rs. 2000/-.
  • First Time Rs 100 (including Rs 50 refundable security)
  • Next recharge Rs 100 to Rs 1000
  • Validity - 1 year after every recharge, max 10 years
  • Same station entry/exit Rs 8 charged within 20 min


Some options to passengers to recharge the travel cards: Here are following options that are available to passengers to recharge the travel cards:-
At Customer Care Center (CCC)
On cash payment:
Minimum value to Recharge Smart Card is Rs. 200/-
Later in multiple of Rs. 100 up to Rs. 2000/-
At Token Vending Machine (TVM)
On cash payment:
Minimum value to Recharge Smart Card is Rs. 100/-
After that in multiple of Rs. 50 up to Rs. 2000/-
At Point of Sale (POS)
Through Credit/Debit Card of any bank facility available at selected stations:
Minimum value to Recharge Smart Card is Rs. 200/-
Then in multiple of Rs. 100 up to Rs. 2000/-
SMS
ICICI account users can also recharge their cards with SMS facility. You need to visit the website that is www.dmrcsmartcard.com to view the format and other details.  
After sending the SMS present the card at AVMs installed at most of the Stations.
Top up at Business Correspondent of ICICI Bank outlets
At over 1000 outlets in the city just by paying cash.
Validity: Ten Years from the date of purchase or the date of last recharge.
Facility to check balance on Card: Ticket Reading Machines available at all Metro Stations.

Other Two Facilities:

Web Top Up/Online recharge: At DMRC Smart Card Portal follow these steps are
  • First of all go to the site www.dmrcsmartcard.com
  • Enter the amount and card information,
  • Secure pay with Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking and
  • Go to Add Value Machine (AVM) installed at all Stations


Auto Top Up:
  • Users of the DMRC –ICICI Bank Combo Card (Unifare Card) can take the benefit of this facility of auto top of through the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Entry gate. 
  • With this Auto Top Up facility the passengers can top up their smart cards at the AFC entry gate itself.
  • This Auto Top Up facility is available at selected stations
  • Add Value of Rs 200.00 will be done on the combo card when the balance of the smart card goes below Rs.100.00 (Auto Top Threshold).
  • Later, Rs 200 will be debited from Travelers account and credited to DMRC account.


Tourist Card:
  • Tourist Card is appropriate for unlimited travel over short duration on all DMRC lines except Airport Line.
  • This is specially for a single day travel
  • Purchase a card word Rs100 and travel whole day to any station on the Delhi Metro
  • 1 day Rs 150 (Rs 100 + Rs 50 refundable security)
  • 3 Days Rs 300 (Rs. 250 + Rs 50 refundable security)


Token: Passengers can purchase single journey tokens from Ticket counters of all Stations and from TVMs of selected stations.
  • Only One way permitted
  • Validity One day
  • Refund with in 60 min
  • Minimum Fare is Rs. 10/- and maximum is Rs. 60/- (fares are subject to revision from time to time), (Rs 80/- including Rapid Metro).
  • Steps to use your Token:
  • If you want to entry then hold your token close to the machine for the gates to open.
  • And for exit, drop the token into the machine.
  • How to use your Smart Card/ Tourist Card?
  • For entry, display your travel card at the entry gate for the flaps to open.
  • For way out, exhibit your travel card at the exit gates for the flap to open. While exiting, passengers may note that fare is deducted from the card. If not, contact the Customer Care Operator to avoid inconvenience at later stage.
