GATE Eligibility Criteria:
- For Women candidates: Rs. 750
- For SC/ ST/ PwD* category candidates: Rs. 750
- For All other candidates: Rs. 1500
- For GATE International candidates: US Dollars 50
Mode of Payment:
- Fee can be submitted through online mode using net banking / debit card / e-challan facilities.
- Additional charges will be applicable as per the rule of the bank from where the money is being transferred.
Admission
Process: Selection
will be made on the basis of marks obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in
Engineering followed by other process of admission.
Exam
Pattern for GATE: Pattern will be as follows:
- Examination contains two different types of questions
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Numerical Answer Questions.
- Papers bearing the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF and XE, the Engineering Mathematics will carry around 15% of the total marks.
- 15% of the total marks is given to the General Aptitude section.
- The other subject of the paper will carry 70% of the total mark.
- Papers bearing the codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL, the General Aptitude section will carry 15% and other subjects will carry 85% of the total marks.

GATE Exam Syllabus: Examination
will contain topics based on Engineering Mathematics, Computer Science and
Information Technology, Fluid Mechanics, Manufacturing and Industrial
Engineering, Electrical Engineering etc.
How to apply for GATE: Process to apply for GATE is given below:
- Dynamic students will have to visit the official website of GATE that is gate.iitr.ernet.in.
- On the home page go to the section as “GATE” and then go to “Apply Online” link.
- Navigate now to fill all the asked details in the online form.
- Upload the scanned photograph and signature in appropriate size.
- Now submit double cheek form before last date to receipt it.
- Don’t forget to get hard copy of submitted form for further use till get the admission.
Documents to be Attached:
Photograph:
- Photo should be in color and taken after 1 August.
- Standard size of the photo is 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm (Width x Height).
- Max pixel resolution for JPEG: 480 × 640 (0.3 Mega pixel) and min pixel resolution for JPEG: 240 × 320.
Signature:
- Size of signature can be 2 cm × 7 cm (Height x Width).
- Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.
- The max pixel resolution for the image is 160 × 560 and min pixel resolution for the image is 80 × 280.
Thumb Impression:
- Size of signature can be 3 cm × 5 cm (Height x Width).
- Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.
- The max pixel resolution for the image is 160 × 560 and min pixel resolution for the image is 80 × 280.
